The FOD Mobiliteit en Vervoer / SPF Mobilité et Transports published last Friday the results of their BeMob survey.
Here are some of the conclusions:
🚈 🚉 🚍 Public transports are not efficient enough.
Better interconnections and interface between public transport would improve is.
The ones using NMBS-SNCB are more positive about is that the ones not using it. This confirms misperception regarding the use of the train.
🅿️ Parking has a strong impact on the use of public transport.
Parking at the station is missing compared to train potential (see the B-Parking at Ottignies for example)
🚶♀️🚶♂️ 🚴♀️ 🚴🏾♂️ Biking and walking provide an insecure feeling, infrastructures need to be improved.
There the idea launched some weeks ago by STRATEC S.A. and Touring of bicycle (and pedestrian) street parallel to main axes might be a good solution.
🚘 Carpooling as a solution? there is too much barrier to carpooling (flexibility, organisation, etc.).
